Things to See and Do on a Pontoon Boat
In our humble opinion, Mexico Beach pontoon boat rentals offer some of the best sights in the world. We are lucky enough to have the stunning Shell Island close by, as well as the chance to spot some truly incredible wildlife both under, and above, the water.
Discover Pristine Nature on Shell Island
A mere 15 minutes away is the stunning Shell Island. It is a seven-mile stretch of uninhabited and undeveloped paradise. White sandy beaches offer abundant wildlife, such as ghost crabs, deer, and sea turtles. Take your rental pontoon boat and seek out your very own secluded spot for a picnic.
Stroll along the sandy shores and collect a few of the many shells that give the island its name. Swim in the crystal-clear water, or simply soak up the sun and take a few moments to truly relax.
Please remember that it is a completely undeveloped island. This means there are no restaurants or bathrooms there. Luckily, the pontoon boats offer plenty of room for you to take enough provision for the day.
Shell Island Etiquette
We always remind our guests to leave Shell Island as they find it. Make sure to pack up everything and take it with you. This includes all your trash, which you can bring back to dock, where it can be disposed of properly.
Discover Underwater Treasures While Snorkeling
The pontoon boat allows you to dive into the inviting waters any time you feel like it. There are so many snorkeling opportunities around Panama City Beach, so do not forget your gear. A variety of fish await you, and you may even be lucky enough to spot a turtle.
Go Dolphin Spotting on your Mexico Beach Pontoon Boat Rental
The friendly bottlenose dolphins are residents of the Mexico Beach area, so you are likely to find them playing in the water. Salty Pontoons will give you a map that points out the best places to find them if that is something you are interested in.
The dolphins love to jump in and out of the water, and they may even follow your boat around for a while. You might even see a momma dolphin with her pod.
See the Sights of St. Andrews Bay
Cruising around the turquoise waters of St. Andrews Bay gives you unparalleled views of the Port of Panama City, Historic St. Andrews, and St. Andrews State Park. Meander past fishing boats and other watercraft and wave to the people on board. Renting a pontoon boat allows you to explore at a leisurely pace and soak in your surroundings.
What to Take Aboard a Pontoon Boat
All customers are encouraged to bring the following items on board with them:
• Sunscreen and a hat
• Cooler of food and drink
• Beach supplies (picnic blanket, bucket, shovel, etc.)
• Snorkeling gear
• Swimming gear
Please note that if you want to bring equipment to fish, all passengers over the age of 16 must possess a Florida fishing license. Children under the age of 16 do not need a license to fish.
What Equipment is Supplied?

The following is included with every boat rent:

Who Can Drive Your Pontoon Boat Rentals?
Our staff will fully instruct you on how to operate the boat safely. No prior experience is necessary, which means anyone over the age of 18 is free to rent and operate our boats. Just remember that in the state of Florida anyone born after January 1, 1988, will need to possess a Florida boaters safety card to operate the vessel. Temporary boaters safety cards can be obtained by taking an online test. Test normally take about 15 minutes to complete.
Our friendly team will take the time to brief you on safety measures, where the safety equipment is located, and ensure you are fully comfortable with operating the boat before you set off.
